The breve, the longest note at Grade 4, and double-dotted notes and rests.
The breve
Each note value is half the one before, so count in crotchets. The breve lasts as long as two semibreves: 8 crotchet beats. It fills a whole bar of 4/2. Its rest is a block filling one space of the stave, as the semibreve rest hangs below a line.
