Duplets and grouping
Duplets in compound time, triplets recapped, and how notes and rests are grouped in every Grade 4 time signature.
Duplets
A duplet is the opposite of a triplet: two notes in the time of three. It is used in compound time, where a beat normally divides into three. Two duplet quavers fill one dotted crotchet beat.
A triplet still means three notes in the time of two.
