About this game
Angry Heroes is a slingshot physics game in the spirit of Angry Birds: you fling round, furious heroes at wooden and stone structures to knock out the aliens hiding inside. Each shot takes seconds, but every collapse plays out differently, which is what keeps you pulling the band back for one more try.
Made by another developer and hosted on Brainlag.
How to play
Each level gives you a small line of heroes waiting beside the slingshot. Drag the hero back, use the dotted aiming line to judge the arc, and let go to launch. Your goal is to defeat every alien on the screen, either by hitting them directly or by bringing the structures down on top of them.
Once a hero is in the air, click or tap to fire its special power, as the in-game tutorial shows. The red, blue, yellow and black heroes each have their own power, and a counter shows how many power-ups you have left. Some levels also have little friendly characters standing around, and the tutorial tells you to avoid hitting them.
There are 20 levels on the level map, with boss aliens waiting on some of them. Clearing a level awards up to three stars and unlocks the next one, and finishing the whole set takes you to a game-completed screen.
Controls
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Mouse drag / touch drag | Pull back the slingshot and aim |
| Release | Launch the hero |
| Click / tap in flight | Use the hero's special power |
Tips
- Aim for the base of a tower rather than the top. Knocking out the supports drops the whole thing onto the aliens below.
- Don't fire the special power the moment the hero leaves the sling. Wait until it's lined up with the structure or target you want to hit.
- Pull all the way back for long shots over walls, and use a shorter pull for a gentle lob onto nearby targets.
- Check where the friendly characters are before you shoot and pick an angle that keeps them out of the blast.
- If your first shot goes badly wrong, use the restart button and try a different angle instead of wasting the rest of your heroes.
FAQ
Does it save my progress?
Yes. The game uses your browser's local storage to remember which levels you've unlocked and how many stars you earned. It's kept in this browser only, so clearing site data or switching devices starts you over.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. It works with touch as well as a mouse: drag and release to shoot, then tap to use a power. Turn your phone sideways, as the game is designed for landscape.
How many levels are there?
There are 20 levels on the map, including boss stages. Clear the last one and you reach the game-completed screen, and you can go back to earlier levels any time to improve your stars.
