About this game

Bubble Shooter is the classic colour-matching puzzle: aim a launcher at a ceiling of coloured bubbles and pop them in groups of three or more. It feels relaxed at first, but the board creeps down whenever you waste a shot, so every bubble you fire matters.

Made by another developer and hosted on Brainlag.

How to play

Aim with the mouse or your finger and click or tap to fire. When your bubble lands against bubbles of the same colour and makes a group of three or more, the whole group pops. Any bubbles left hanging with nothing connecting them to the top drop off too, and each one that falls is worth 100 points, so knocking out the bubbles that hold up a big cluster pays far more than popping the cluster piece by piece.

The grey bubbles under the board count your misses. Every shot that fails to make a match uses one up, and when they run out a new row pushes the whole board down. Fewer misses are allowed as the game goes on, and the number also shrinks as colours disappear from the board. Clear every bubble to win and the result screen adds a bonus equal to your score; let the bubbles reach the bottom and it's game over.

Tips

  • Use the side walls. Bubbles bounce off them, so a bank shot can reach a gap that a straight shot would hit from the wrong side.
  • Look for the bubbles holding up a cluster before you look for the biggest group. Popping a small group near the top can drop a dozen bubbles at 100 points each.
  • Check the next bubble before you shoot. If the current colour has nowhere useful to go, park it next to its own colour in a spot that sets up a later match rather than firing it anywhere.
  • Watch the grey miss counter. When you are down to your last one, take the safe match even if it is small, because a new row arriving can bury the shots you were planning.
  • Clear the lowest bubbles first. They end the game when the board drops.

FAQ

Does it save my progress?

No. Each game starts fresh, and this build doesn't keep a high score between visits, so treat each board as its own challenge.

Can I play on a phone or Chromebook?

Yes. Aiming and firing work with a tap on phones and tablets, and with a mouse or touchpad on a Chromebook or laptop.

How do I get a higher score?

Make your points from falling bubbles. A shot that cuts a large cluster loose scores much more than popping groups one at a time, and finishing the board doubles your total.
