About this game

Drive Mad is a physics driving game by Martin Magni, made with Fancade. Every level is a short obstacle course of ramps, gaps and moving parts, and your job is to get a top-heavy vehicle to the end without flipping it. Each level only takes a minute or two, so it is easy to fit a few into a short break.

Made by another developer and hosted on Brainlag.

How to play

Each level gives you a vehicle and a course. You only control the gas and reverse; the physics engine handles everything else, including how the car bounces, tips and lands. Flip onto your roof or fall off the course and you have to try the level again.

Reaching the end of a level unlocks the next one, and the level select screen shows how far you have got. The vehicle and the obstacles change from level to level, so a technique that worked on one course may need adjusting on the next.

There is no score or timer to chase. The challenge is simply getting through, and later levels ask for much more careful throttle control than the early ones.

Tips

  • Most crashes come from too much speed. Feather the gas over bumps and let the suspension settle before you accelerate again.
  • Reverse is your brake. Use it early on downhill sections instead of arriving at the bottom too fast and flipping forward.
  • In the air, gas and reverse change how the vehicle tilts, so use short taps to bring it down level on its wheels.
  • Take a moment at the start of a level to look at the whole course. Many have a moving piece, and timing your approach beats rushing at it.
  • If a heavy vehicle starts lifting its front wheels, ease off the gas rather than slamming on reverse, which can rock it over the other way.
  • Restart quickly when a run starts badly. A level only takes a moment to retry, and a clean start is worth more than saving a wobbly attempt.

FAQ

Does it save my progress?

Yes. Your unlocked levels are stored in this browser's storage, so you can come back to where you left off. Clearing site data or switching to another device resets them.

Can I play on a phone or Chromebook?

Yes. On a phone or tablet, tap the on-screen buttons. On a Chromebook, use the arrow keys or click the buttons.

I'm stuck on a level. What should I do?

Slow down. Nearly every hard level in Drive Mad is beaten with less speed, not more: creep up to the tricky part, then use short bursts of gas to get over it.
