Eggy Car
Nice break. Ready to get back to it? Back to study
About this game
Eggy Car is a physics driving game where your only cargo is an egg balanced on the roof of a little car. The hills keep coming, and the run ends the moment the egg rolls off and cracks. It is a game about gentle throttle control, and it is far harder than it looks.
Made by another developer and hosted on Brainlag.
How to play
You drive to the right over an endless road of hills and dips. The egg sits loose on top of the car, so every bump, sudden burst of speed or hard stop can tip it off. If the egg touches the ground, it cracks and the run is over.
You can't steer or jump: speed is the only thing you control. Hold forward to accelerate and back to slow down or roll backwards. With a mouse or on a touch screen you press the two pedals on screen; on a keyboard, the right and left keys do the same job.
Your score is the distance you cover, and the game remembers your best. Coins appear along the road; collect them and spend them on new cars in the car selection screen. Power-ups also turn up on the track now and then.
Controls
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Right arrow / D | Accelerate |
| Left arrow / A | Brake and reverse |
| On-screen pedals | Accelerate and brake with the mouse or a finger |
Tips
- Ease off the throttle just before the top of each hill. Going over a crest at full speed throws the car into the air, and the egg keeps flying without it.
- On the way down, tap back to keep your speed in check. A hard landing at the bottom of a slope is what bounces the egg off.
- Correct the egg by moving the car underneath it. If the egg slides toward the back, a short push forward tucks it in; if it slides forward, ease off or tap back briefly.
- Never brake hard from high speed. Stopping dead flings the egg forward, so slow down gradually.
- Only grab coins that are already on your line. Changing speed to chase one at the wrong moment ends a lot of good runs.
FAQ
Does it save my progress?
Yes. Your best distance, your coins and your chosen car are stored in this browser. Clearing site data or switching to another device resets them.
Can I play on a phone or Chromebook?
Yes. On a phone or tablet, press the pedals on screen. On a Chromebook, use the arrow keys or A and D.
Is there an end?
No, the road keeps going. The challenge is to beat your own best distance, a few metres at a time.
