About this game

Geometry Dash Hyper Wave is a one-button game built around the wave, the zig-zagging arrow from Geometry Dash. Hold to fly up at an angle, let go to dive, and thread your trail through narrow neon corridors lined with spikes. It is pure timing and rhythm, and the attempts pile up fast.

Made by another developer and hosted on Brainlag.

How to play

Hold Space, the left mouse button or your finger on the screen and the wave climbs diagonally; let go and it dives at the same angle. There is no in-between, so you steer by how long you hold. Touch a wall or a spike and you crash, and the Attempt counter ticks up each time you try again.

The game has 10 levels. Finishing one unlocks the next, and your progress in each level is saved so you can see how close you got.

Completing a level earns stars, which count toward the leaderboard. Coins are placed through the levels, and new skins unlock for goals such as completing a level, collecting all the coins in a level or completing the whole game. You can also choose your wave colour and trail colour from 26 colours.

Tips

  • Use quick, even taps for gentle slopes. The wave's angle never changes, so a fast rhythm of short holds gives you a nearly flat zig-zag line.
  • Keep your rhythm steady in tight corridors. Long, jerky holds are what clip the ceiling or the floor.
  • Learn a level in chunks. Notice exactly where your attempts end and plan that one section before worrying about the rest.
  • Go for coins only once you can finish the level. Coin routes tend to be riskier, and a completed level is already progress saved.
  • Press Esc for a breather when you need one, instead of crashing on purpose to reset your focus.
  • Pick a wave and trail colour that stand out against the level so you can always see where the wave is heading.

FAQ

Does it save my progress?

Yes. Unlocked levels, your progress in each level and your skins are saved in this browser's local storage. Clearing site data or switching to another device resets them.

Can I play on a phone or Chromebook?

Yes. On a phone or tablet, touch and hold the screen to fly up. On a Chromebook, hold Space or the mouse button.

Is there an end?

Yes. There are 10 levels, and completing the game is itself one of the ways to unlock a skin. After that you can go back for coins you missed.
