About this game

Highway Traffic is a 3D endless driving game where you weave through busy motorway traffic at the highest speed you dare. The closer you pass other cars, the more you earn, and the cash goes into new cars, paint, wheels and upgrades. It is easy to start a run and very hard to stop after just one.

Made by another developer and hosted on Brainlag.

How to play

Pick a car and a mode, then drive as far as you can without crashing. There are four modes. One Way puts all traffic in your direction. Two Way lets you drive in the opposite lane against oncoming cars for extra reward. Time Attack gives you a clock that you have to keep topped up by driving well, and Bomb mode straps a bomb to your car that loses health if you drop below speed.

You earn points and cash for distance, for driving at high speed, for near misses when you slip past another car, and in Two Way for time spent in the opposite direction. A crash ends the run and shows what you earned. The game keeps a best score for each mode.

In the garage you can buy new cars and spend cash on upgrades such as speed, brakes and nitro, as well as paint colours, wheels and a police siren for the cars that support it.

Tips

  • Near misses pay much better than safe driving. Pass cars with a small gap, but always keep an escape lane in mind before you commit.
  • Two Way is the fastest way to earn cash once you are comfortable. Dip into the oncoming lane for short bursts and slide back as soon as you see headlights closing in.
  • Spend your first cash on speed and brakes for the car you already own. Better brakes save more runs than a flashy new car with stock parts.
  • In Bomb mode, plan your route so you rarely need to brake hard. Steering around a car keeps your speed up; stopping behind one burns the bomb's health.

FAQ

Does it save my progress?

Yes. Your cash, cars, upgrades and best scores are saved in this browser. Clearing site data or playing on another device starts you from the beginning.

Can I play on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The game has on-screen driving controls for touch screens. On a laptop or Chromebook, the arrow keys or WASD work best.

Which mode earns the most?

Two Way usually pays the most because of the opposite-direction bonus, but it is also the easiest place to crash. If you keep losing runs early, earn steadily in One Way first and upgrade your brakes.
