About this game

Monkey Mart puts you in charge of a tiny supermarket run by monkeys. You start with a banana patch and a single shelf, and by running around harvesting, stocking and ringing up customers you slowly grow it into a busy store with more products and staff. It is cheerful, low-pressure and very easy to keep playing for just one more upgrade.

Made by another developer and hosted on Brainlag.

How to play

You control the store manager monkey and move around the shop floor. Walk over a crop such as the banana plants to pick up produce, then walk to its matching shelf to stock it. Customers wander in, take what they want from the shelves and queue at the till. Stand at the checkout to serve them, then pick up the cash they leave.

Money is spent by standing on the price markers around the store. These unlock new stations and products, such as corn and coffee, each with its own source to harvest or process and its own shelf to keep full. A fuller store attracts more customers and brings in more money, so the loop keeps growing.

As you earn more, you can hire assistant monkeys who take over jobs like stocking shelves or working the till, and buy upgrades in the upgrades menu. Later you can open more markets, so there is always another store to build up.

Tips

  • Unlock the till helper or a cashier as early as you can. Serving every customer yourself ties you to the counter and stops you restocking.
  • Carry a full load before you walk to a shelf. One trip with a big stack is much faster than several small ones.
  • Keep your oldest products stocked even after unlocking new ones. Empty shelves mean customers leave without buying, which slows your income.
  • Plan a route. Put yourself on a loop that passes the crops, the shelves and the till in order, so you are never walking back and forth across the store.
  • Spend on things that save you time first, such as assistants and carrying or speed upgrades, before cosmetic or expensive late-game stations.

FAQ

Does it save my progress?

Yes. The game saves to this browser, so your store, money and upgrades are still there when you return on the same device. Clearing site data or switching browser or device starts a new store.

Can I play on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Touch and drag anywhere on the screen to move your monkey, and tap the menu buttons as normal.

Is there an end?

There is no hard ending. Once one store is running smoothly you can open another market and build it up, so you can keep playing for a long time.
