About this game

Ricochet Arrow is a little archery puzzle where the walls do half the aiming for you. You stand in a walled room with a bow, skeletons wait in corners you cannot see directly, and every arrow bounces off the walls until it hits something. Lining up a shot that banks twice and drops a skeleton is a lovely feeling.

Practises: Physics intuition: angles and bounces

How to play

Each level is a small walled room. Your archer stays in place, and the skeletons are tucked behind walls and around corners. Your job is to clear them all by bouncing arrows off the walls so they reach targets you could never hit in a straight line.

Press and hold anywhere to start aiming, drag to set the direction, then release to fire. Arrows bounce off the walls rather than stopping, so a single shot can cross the room more than once. You have as many arrows as you like, but the game's own rule is to be smart about it: an arrow that bounces back into you counts against you, so watch where each shot will end up.

There are 30 levels, unlocked in order from the level select screen. Finishing a room moves you on to the next one, and your progress is remembered between visits.

Tips

  • Trace the path in your head before you shoot. Follow the line to the first wall, mirror it, and keep going until it reaches a skeleton or comes back toward you.
  • Shots that hit a wall straight on come straight back. If your aim line is close to a right angle with a wall, change it, or you may end up shooting yourself.
  • Corners are useful. A shot into a corner bounces off two walls and returns along a parallel line, which is a handy way to reach targets tucked behind a pillar.
  • Take skeletons one at a time. Since arrows are unlimited, there is no reward for a risky shot that tries to hit two at once.

FAQ

Does it save my progress?

Yes. Unlocked levels are stored in this browser, so you can return later on the same device and continue. The menu also has a hold-to-reset option if you want to start over, and clearing site data or switching devices starts you from level 1.

Can I play on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Press and drag with your finger to aim, then lift it to shoot. It works the same way as with a mouse.

Is there a limit on arrows?

No. You can shoot as many arrows as you need. The only thing to avoid is a shot that bounces back and hits your own archer.
