What is free for every class

Study tools
Flashcards that space themselves, a focus timer, a revision planner, an exam countdown, graphing and science calculators. No account needed to use them.
Revision notes by exam board
Short notes pages for GCSE topics with the AQA, Edexcel and OCR references, worked examples and common mistakes.
Flashcard decks
Ready-made key term decks for GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science that students add in one tap.
Printables
Lined, squared and dotted paper, planners and timetables, as PDFs that print edge to edge.

How classes work

  1. Set up a teacher account. We check it by hand, usually within two working days.
  2. Create a class and print the join sheet. Students sign in, type the 8-character code and choose the name you will see.
  3. Set work: a Learn unit or lesson, a topic test, a revision notes page, a flashcard deck or a task in one of the tools, with a due date.
  4. See results by student and by assignment: done or not, scores, attempts and a red, amber or green for each spec point. Download a CSV for your markbook.

Class seats

A seat gives one student everything in Brainlag Plus for a year, including the Plus lessons and topic tests in Learn: £3 per student, at least 10 students.

Coming soon. Buying seats online is not open yet.

Pilot classes

We are looking for a few teachers to try Brainlag with a class this year, with free seats for the pilot. Write to [email protected] with your school and subject.

Questions

Is it free?
Yes. Teacher accounts, classes, setting work and results are free. Seats are only needed for Plus content.
Do my students need an email address?
They need a Brainlag account, which uses an email address. You never see it.
Which courses can I set?
Anything that is open on Brainlag: revision notes, flashcard decks, tool tasks and the Learn courses as they open. Plus lessons and topic tests need class seats.
Can I use it with a whole school?
Start with one class. For a department or a school, write to [email protected] and we will talk about an invoice and a data processing agreement.
