About this paper

The Cornell method splits a page in three. During class you write notes in the wide column. Afterwards you turn them into questions and keywords in the cue column, then write a two or three sentence summary at the bottom. Covering the notes and answering the cues is a quick self-test.

Printing it right

  • In the print dialog, set the scale to 100% or Actual size. Fit to page shrinks the page and the spacing with it.
  • Choose the same paper size in the print dialog as on this page.
  • Turn off headers and footers in the print dialog if your browser adds a date or web address.
  • The PDF keeps every line as a vector, so it stays sharp at any zoom and prints the same on any printer.

FAQ

Is the paper free to use?
Yes. Print as many copies as you like for yourself, your class or your study group.
Why does my printout look slightly smaller?
The print dialog is scaling it. Set the scale to 100% or Actual size and the spacing matches the number you picked.
A4 or US Letter?
A4 (210 x 297 mm) is used in the UK, Europe and most of the world. US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) is used in the US and Canada. Pick the paper that is in your printer. Under Other you will also find A3, A5, A6, B5, US Legal, Tabloid, Executive and Half Letter.
Which colour should I pick?
Light grey and blue sit quietly behind your writing. Print-friendly uses black ink only, which suits photocopying and black and white printers.
