How to make and study flashcards
- Type one card per line in the editor below, in the form question | answer.
- Press Save deck, or import a CSV. Use the deck bar to keep separate decks per subject.
- Flip the card (click or Space), then grade yourself: Again, Hard, Good or Easy. Each grade sets when the card returns.
- Study until nothing is due. The summary shows when the next cards are ready, and links you straight to Quiz or Thought Catcher.

- Is the flashcard maker free?
- Yes. There is no paid version.
- Where is my deck saved?
- Your deck is stored in your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded to a server, which also means clearing your browser data deletes the deck, so keep a copy of important decks elsewhere.
- How does the spaced repetition work?
- Each card has its own interval. Again resets it, Hard shortens it, Good and Easy stretch it out, so easy cards return in weeks and shaky ones return the same day.
- Can I use my deck in a game?
- Yes. The same deck is shared with the Thought Catcher typing game on this site, so you can practise the exact cards you built here in arcade form.
