About this tool
Math Practice gives you quick drills across nine topics, from times tables and fractions to algebra, geometry, averages and probability. Race a 60-second clock or switch to untimed practice, and every wrong answer shows the working so you learn the method, not just the number. It suits anyone revising for tests.
Tips
- Start untimed on a new topic, then move to the 60-second drill once you get most answers right. Speed comes after accuracy.
- Use Practice missed again straight after a round, while the mistakes are fresh, and repeat until the list is empty.
- Your best score is tracked per topic, so aim to beat it a little each day instead of cramming one long session before a test.
FAQ
- Do I need to simplify fractions?
- No. An equivalent fraction such as 6/8 is accepted for 3/4, and ratios are accepted in any equivalent form. For a percentage decrease, type a minus sign, for example -20.
- What do Easy, Medium and Hard change?
- They change the size of the numbers in each question. In Arithmetic you can also choose which operations appear; the other topics mix their own question types, such as solving equations, expanding brackets and substitution in algebra.
- Is my progress saved?
- Yes, on this device. Your topic, level, operations and recent round scores are kept in this browser's local storage, which is how your best score per topic is remembered. Nothing is uploaded unless you sign in to an optional free Brainlag account, which syncs it across devices. Clearing your browser data deletes it.
